If you live in an apartment in Charlotte, NC there is lots to do for family-friendly Halloween events. You can visit the Great Pumpkin Fest at Carowinds every Saturday and Sunday in October. The kiddos can hang with the Peanuts Gang all day, decorate their own mumpkin (a mini-pumpkin) and even be a special part of the daily costume parade. The day isn’t complete without trick-or-treating throughout the park. And remember… there are no tricks, just treats at this spooktacular event.
If you’re looking for a challenge, what better fall activity than a good ol’ fashioned corn maze. The Amazing Maize Maze at Rural Hill in Huntersville, North Carolina, is a great day spent with friends and family as you maneuver your way through corn as far as the eye can see. If that’s too easy for you, come back when the sun sets for the night maze but don’t forget to bring your own flashlight. You never know what may pop out of the maze at night!
Bootanical at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is an event for the whole family. On the itinerary are a costume parade, pumpkin chunking, hayrides, fire pits and fall beer sampling for the adults so everyone gets their share of fun. An added bonus – kids in their Halloween costumes get in free.
Make a trip to the Carolina Raptor Center for their Hoot-N-Howl Halloween event. Hang out with your favorite owls and birds of prey as you enjoy Halloween surrounded by nature and all things that fly through the sky. Your day will be full of fun science experiments, hayrides, face painting, games and hooting contests!
