Office Closing

The Auston Woods Welcome Center will be closed on Tuesday, March 12, as our team will be attending an HHHunt Regional Awards Ceremony.

The Welcome Center will also be closed on Friday, March 29 and Sunday, March 31. We will be open from 10am-5pm on Saturday, March 30. We hope you all have a safe and happy extended holiday weekend.


Not going to be home to sign for a package delivery? We are able to sign for packages in the Welcome Center, and will hold them for up to 14 days.

Please note that Auston Woods/HHHunt is not responsible for theft, loss, or damage to items delivered.

Packages will only be released to leaseholders of the apartment to which they are addressed, and can only be picked up during regular office hours.

We reserve the right to deny packages, and will not sign for any packages shipped prior to a lease starting date, perishable items, tires or luggage.

Long Distance Numbers at Gate Kiosk

Want to have your long distance number put in the gate kiosk? Until the end of March, we will add your long distance number to the gate for just $25. That’s a 50% savings off the standard long distance fee. Your phone number will not appear in the gate kiosk.

When your guest arrives at the gate, he/she can scroll to your name (Last Name, First Initial) and hit “Call”.At this point, the kiosk will call whatever number you provide. When you answer the call, you can verify the identity of the person at the gate, pressing “9” to open the gate, or hanging up to keep the gate closed.

Stop by the Welcome Center with a check or money order for $25 and your phone number. We can have it entered into the kiosk with 24 hours.

Resident Survey

The Auston Woods Team will be attending an HHHunt Regional Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, March 12th. For part of this ceremony, we would like to invite you to complete a short survey about what you like best about apartment living.

Trash Items

As the weather warms up, we want to make sure we are not leaving any attractants to pests, or creating any offensive odors.

Do not leave trash items on your balcony area or by the front door. Dispose of all trash in one of the designated trash compactors.

Protect your home from pests by taking out your trash regularly. Making sure your trash cans have lids can also help to prevent odors and pests in your apartment homes.

St. Patrick’s Day

It is said that everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. Embrace the day on March 17th and make this delicious shepherd’s pie from www.allrecipes.com.

While traditionally made with lamb, ground beef can be substituted in to suit individual taste.



  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 pounds lean ground lamb
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 1/2 cups water, or as needed
  • 1 (12 ounce) package frozen peas and carrots, thawed
  • 2 1/2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and halved
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 pound Irish cheese (such as Dubliner®), shredded
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons milk


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Place olive oil and butter in Dutch oven over medium heat. Stir in onion and ground lamb; brown the meat, breaking it up into small crumbles as it cooks, about 10 minutes.
  3. Stir in flour until incorporated, then mix in salt, black pepper, rosemary, paprika, cinnamon, ketchup, and garlic; cook and stir until garlic is fragrant, 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in water and scrape up any brown bits from the bottom of the Dutch oven. Reduce heat to medium-low and bring mixture to a simmer; cook and stir until thick, about 5-6 minutes.
  5. Remove lamb mixture from heat and stir in peas and carrots until combined.
  6. Spread lamb mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish and set aside.
  7. Place potatoes into a large pan of salted water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium, and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain well and return potatoes to pan.
  8. Mash butter, cayenne pepper, cream cheese, and Irish cheese into the potatoes. Mash until combined and potatoes are smooth. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
  9. Whisk together egg yolk and milk in a small bowl; stir into the mashed potato mixture.
  10. Top the lamb mixture in the baking dish with the mashed potatoes and spread evenly to cover.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown and sauce is bubbling up around the edges, 25 to 30 minutes.

Check Your Air Conditioning

Warm weather is just around the corner! Before you start sweating, check your air conditioner to make sure that it is in good working order. If you notice any functional issues, contact us as early as possible so that we may make every effort to have it functional before it gets too hot.
